Clinician Referral Ages 2

Mightier helps children (ages 6 – 12) who struggle with their emotions.

This includes kids who have a tough time with tantrums, anger, aggression, irritability, feelings of frustration, anxiety, or even a diagnosis like ODD, ADHD, and Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Mightier works to build better emotional regulation (management) in children over time through practice and increasing challenges playing games.

How Mightier Works

Mightier has created a fun environment where children play games to practice cooling down/calming down or “taking a pause”.

Kids wear a heart rate monitor while they play, which allows them to see their emotions and connect with them directly. As they play, children react to their heart rate. As their heart rates go up, the Mightier game gets harder to play and they practice how to bring their heart rate down (take a pause) in order to earn rewards in the games.

Over time and with continuous practice, Mightier helps foster an autonomous way for children to better process frustrations in real world situations.

Why Refer Mightier to Your Clients?

Mightier makes learning emotional regulation easier for kids (and clinicians!) Many clinicians have child clients who can utilize and practice coping strategies in session, but struggle with using the strategies outside of sessions when presented with challenges. This is because it is difficult for kids to get enough practice with coping skills to actually implement them when they need them most.

Mightier is a fun and engaging program for your child clients to get the additional practice they need to successfully use the strategies they have learned with you in therapy. With Mightier, kids practice lowering their heart rate 1 to 2 times a minute. This creates plenty of opportunities to learn and practice coping skills so they are better able to do so in the real world.

To get this practice between sessions, we recommend children play Mightier at home (3 times a week for 15-20 minutes at a time, for 90 days) to practice cooling down/calming down or “taking a pause”.

What other clinicians are saying

“This is a fun and engaging biofeedback program that we saw positive results from. The kids loved and looked forward to it as well!”

School Adjustment Counselor

“Mightier has been a great tool to bridge the child’s knowledge of their level of self-regulation to their actual ability to self regulate. Using the technology and biofeedback in Mightier has been the ticket to their true recognition of their level of regulation.”

“I start hearing things [from parents] like “I start hearing things [from parents] like “I am noticing that my kid is able to calm a little bit” or “without me even telling them they stopped and took a deep breath.”
